Hydroponic crops

The word Hydroponia refers strictly to the cultivation of plants without soil. Generally speaking, it is a cultivation technique based on artificially supplying the plant with everything necessary for its development.

Hydroponia is a science which studies crops without soil, these crops use substratum. Substratum is an inert solid environment which carries out two essential functions:

- To fasten and seize the roots, protecting them from the light and allowing them to breathe.

- To contain the water and the nutrients needed by the plants.

For the substratum, different materials are used such as gravel, sand, expansive clay, natural fibers, etc., to which a nutritious solution is added in the watering process, which contains all the essential elements needed for the growth and development of the plant.

This system is efficient for producing excellent quality vegetables, fruits, flowers, aromatic herbs and plants using little space without altering or harming the environment.
